To kick off the 2017 Connecticut International Auto Show in Hartford CT, Carter Chevrolet received the 2017 EV Dealer Award for selling the most electric vehicles in the state under the CHEAPR Program.

Jonathan Larabee, as Dealer Principal of Manchester Honda and Carter Chevrolet and the Chairman of the Board of the Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association (CARA) accepted the award from Commissioner Robert Klee of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) during the ribbon cutting opening ceremony for the auto show.

When accepting the award, Larabee first wanted to thank Chevrolet, saying: “I want to thank Chevrolet for being here today and for the investment of time and resources that Chevrolet and General Motors have made in EV technology. The Volt and the new Zero-Emission-Bolt are leading the industry in electric vehicle technology and I’m happy to be part of the effort.”

He then went on to accept the EV Dealer Award not only on the behalf of Carter Chevrolet, but also for all 25 Connecticut Chevrolet Dealers and the thousands of franchised dealership employees.

After thanking Lt. Governor and Governor Malloy for their continued commitment to the CHEAPR program, Larabee made sure to thank Commissioner Klee saying:

“Finally, but most especially, thank you Commissioner Klee and the staff at DEEP for the commitment to this program and working hard to keep it funded in difficult times. This is a program that really works. CHEAPR works because during the development of the program, DEEP was willing to listen to the ideas of those who sell cars for a living.”

The 2017 Connecticut International Auto Show continues through Sunday featuring hundreds of the newest vehicles.
